Welcome to “On the Home Front,” a new venture for us at AB Homes. Anyone who knows us will tell you, we love what we do – helping people build their dream homes here in Hampton Roads. We decided to launch this blog as a way to share the things we’ve learned to help others when it comes to all the decision-making involved in building a new home.

For instance, what questions should you ask your builder before signing a contract? Who is responsible for the construction loan? And what about the interior features; what’s customizable? We’ll cover these areas, plus everything you need to know about new home building, design trends, lifestyle topics and more here “On the Home Front.”

A little bit about us. We were born and raised right here in Hampton Roads, and we wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. We launched AB Homes for people looking for an affordable custom-built new home on a spacious, rural lot. With a focus on the country side of Suffolk, Isle of Wight County and the surrounding areas, we offer a turn-key quality building experience. Our company buys the land, covers the construction costs, builds the homes and hands over the keys to our customers in a timely manner.

We reside here too, so we’re vested in the community. And like our neighbors, we love the area’s slower pace and home-town feel. When we’re not working or chilling at home with our respective families, one of us may be riding the backroads on his motorcycle, and the other hanging out down on the Outer Banks.
