Shop Local on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30th, 2019

One of the nicest things about living in a small town is getting to know the people we do business with. Like us, they live around the corner and work down the road, contributing to the economy on a local level. In fact, for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the community.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 30th, 2019 is Small Business Saturday.
We hope you will leave the frenzy of Black Friday behind and take a leisurely day browsing in the independently owned shops, restaurants, businesses and services in your hometown. That’s what we’ll be doing.
As you may know, we call Suffolk home. Known as the Gateway to Coastal Virginia, this area is the perfect spot for folks who like country roads, beautiful views, chef-owned restaurants, a growing arts scene and lots of one-of-a-kind shops. From markets selling homegrown produce and Suffolk’s famous peanuts, to stores specializing in apparel, home décor, fine wines, furniture and fine art, the city is a sweet spot to find amazing gifts. Heck, there’s even a saddlery here where you can buy boots for yourself and bits for your horse.
When it’s time to wind down your day, head to Harper’s Table for locally-sourced Southern cuisine, or Arthur’s General Store to grab a sub and catch some homemade music on Friday nights.
